Subject: Testimonial for Atlantic.net
Comment: Along with the others I too became a 'victim' of FeaturePrice's surprise closure, and it did come as a complete suprise. I suddenly found myself without a Web host with over a month of my term to run. From the FAQ - "Atlantic.net will do everything to make the transition as seamless as possible for you. You do not need to take any action at this time. If your help is needed, Atlantic.net will contact you." Save for a few courtesy emails regarding the status of the takeover in general, Atlantic.net has never made first contact with me at all. They have offered no support without me first having to email or call, and even then i am waiting days and weeks for answers. When I ask "When can i expect a resolution?", I am told that they don't know as they have to take care of everybody else first. I am very annoyed with the amount of effort and hassle I have had to, and still am going through. From the FAQ - "Your Web site and e-mail will remain up and running during the transition period. The Atlantic.net team will ensure a smooth transition for your Web hosting services and will contact you if the need arises." Atlantic.net has not set up or made any hosting arrangements for me, nor has it contacted me to do so. My site has been down since before May 15th 2003. It wasn't due to expire until June 15th 2003. To add to that, they have no idea if they can get any of my data, my website, that was stored on the FeaturePrice Server back for me From the FAQ - "You should not experience any downtime." Downtime? I have yet to experience some uptime. There were also complications with the re-registration of my domian name, and after 4 days of being re-registered, i still cannot control it. I would say that I am very displeased with the service i have received, but what I received so far from Atlantic.net cannot be classed as service, and because of that, i would NEVER recommend them to anyone! Sincerly Steve Ashton www.the-ashtons.net (Don 't visit it yet, as it still isn't available for me to contol.)
